The Pros And Cons Of Homeschooling Part 2

Our children attended a private school for 2 and a half years, until we decided to Homeschool them. I’ve been Homeschooling for a year and a half, now. I’ve had experiences as both a Public School Mom and a Homeschool Mom. I’ve experienced both sides of the ongoing Homeschool vs Public School debate.

When you Homeschool you are able to choose your child’s curriculum and in this way you know what your child is learning everyday. You know your child is being taught your belief system and your moral code. You know your child is being taught an age appropriate curriculum.

Your child benefits from one on one teaching. If he struggles to understand a concept, you can take however long he needs. In so doing, your child never feels as though he is stupid, or “slow”. His self esteem and self confidence are built, instead of being destroyed by the Public School system.

By Homeschooling you know that your children are safe and not the victims of bullying or abuse of another sort. This is not something to be taken lightly. The extreme consequence of bullying is Child Suicide. You also know that they are being respected and cared for in a loving environment that has their best interests at heart. Again their self esteem is being built not destroyed.

The joy you’ll feel as you and your children set out on your Homeschool Journey together, is indescribable. You’ll witness your family drawing closer and loving each others’ company. Isn’t this the way childhood was meant to be?

If you weigh up the Pro’s and Cons of Homeschooling, I hope you’ll find, as we have, that the path ahead is quite clear to you. Homeschooling offers a child so much more than Public Schooling.

But at the end of the day, it really depends on what you want for your child, and what you want your children exposed to. The question you need to answer is, “What is best for my child?”

For us the answer is, “Homeschool” every time!
